More than 69 years ago, precisely on February 21, 1943, birth of a baby boy from a modest family in a small village Watebula-Sumba Island. A good name has been given by her parents, Hilarius Moa Nurak means the Younger-The Exuberant Fun - The Always Beloved Lord.

Hilarius, since childhood has always taught the love of Prayer. Pray to the Lord Jesus and pray the Rosary was the custom in his family. The figure of the Father-Ignatius Paul Paoe was a school teacher, has formed the Catholic faith grew very strong in Hilarius. And the figure of the mother-Bernadetta Modesta Gobang-Hilarius, had formed a small child were cheerful, diligent and humble.

The most memorable moment in Hilarius in Mataloko- Flores, when he received news of the die of his beloved mother. Mother figure which had been a source of strength for the journey of vocation, making life Hilarius shaken. Hilarius protests and angry, because God is not fair to him. But thanks to the unwavering faith and prayer, he resigned that the incident was part of God's grand plan.

On August 2, 1972, Hilarius was ordained a priest Divine Word (SVD) in Flores. Father Hilarius got the opportunity to study Scripture in Rome in 1974-1976. On his return from Rome, from 1976 to 1984, Father Hilarius had been appointed chaplain at the seminary Hokeng-Flores.

After 12 years as a teacher and mentor for candidates for the priesthood, Father Hilarius was appointed Rector of the Seminary Mataloko. Two years as rector, Father Hilarius eventually appointed Bishop of Pangkal Pinang in 1987.
